I lead technical operations initiatives, which include anything related to software systems or business processes
I work within operations to manage software and business process initiatives. My background includes roles in software and systems development as a Quality Analyst, Business Analyst, and Project Manager. Throughout my career, I have worked closely with stakeholders across the organization, from executives and finance teams to developers and end users.
Because of this experience, I am able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, quickly uncover operational pain points, and position solutions in a way that resonates with decision-makers.
I work in Technical Operations, overseeing projects related to software systems and business processes.
In my current role, I lead technical operations initiatives, which include anything related to software systems or business processes. One exception is accounting operations software, which falls outside my scope. Examples include Lacerte, Gusto, QuickBooks, and Drake.
My core role has been ensuring that systems, processes, and teams align effectively during periods of organizational growth. My initial responsibilities were:
Merger-Transition Technical Operations
Software Development Management
Vendor and Contractor Coordination and Management (IT Admin)
Because of this experience, I am able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, quickly uncover operational pain points, and position solutions in a way that resonates with decision-makers.
My work with software falls into several areas:
Implementing new software solutions
Hiring and managing administrators responsible for system configuration and maintenance
Collaborating with external IT teams to ensure systems operate effectively
Using AI-driven systems development to design and build software solutions that address operational challenges
This combination allows me to approach software not only as a tool to deploy, but also as something that can be designed and created when existing solutions do not fully solve the problem.
A significant part of my role involves developing operational processes.
This includes designing workflows, documenting procedures, and walking leadership teams through how those processes function so they can be implemented effectively across the organization.
Strong interpersonal communication: People find me easy to talk to and easy to work with. A key part of my role is removing mental load from leadership by taking ownership of complex technical and operational issues.
Comfort with complexity: I am not intimidated by complex systems or projects. I enjoy understanding how different components connect and how to organize them into workable solutions.
Systematic thinking: My thinking process follows a logical tree structure:
If we do A, it leads to B and C
If A does not work, we move to D
This structured approach helps me analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and design effective solutions.
Software administration: While I have extensive experience managing software implementations and leading administrators, I would like to deepen my hands-on system administration skills. I have worked with software systems enough to effectively manage teams of administrators, but I am interested in strengthening my direct technical involvement.
Presentations: Public speaking presents a unique challenge for me. I have speech impediments and physical behaviors that can sometimes be interpreted as a lack of confidence when presenting. However, I have a strong understanding of people and communication. I recognize that confidence in many professional environments is performative, and my communication style is simply different. Because of this, I am interested in evolving toward more technical and administrative roles, where my strengths in systems thinking, problem-solving, and operational structure can have the greatest impact.
